Heathcote’s RSL Hall will get a much needed upgrade thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program, Lisa Chesters announced today.
Ms Chesters congratulated Advance Heathcote, saying the project was an extremely worthy recipient.
“I commend the hard work of Advance Heathcote on their excellent application which will see the Heathcote RSL Hall receive a much needed heating and cooling upgrade.
“The Heathcote RSL Hall is an important community space,” said Ms Chesters.
“This facility sits up to 400 people and hosts a wide range of community events including theatre, tourism and fundraising events, awards nights, National Remembrance ceremonies and celebrations such as wedding receptions. The upgrade to the heating and cooling will not only mean a more comfortable environment for all those who use the hall, the replacement of old and inefficient equipment will also see significant savings in power bills.
“Venues such as the Heathcote RSL Hall provide communities with important opportunities for engagement, participation and belonging.”
Advance Heathcote is one of 10 organisations who have received a total of $150,000 through the program, to be put towards $2,836,764.00 worth of community-based projects.
“It's vital that our Government demonstrate strong commitment to supporting regional infrastructure, programs and events.”
