Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters, is urging anyone putting in an application for the Anzac Centenary Local Grants Program to act fast.
Applications have to be submitted to Ms Chesters’ office by March 1.
A $125,000 funding pool will be allocated across the whole electorate to fund projects commemorating the First World War.
Ms Chesters said the Centenary of Anzac 2014-2018 stands to be one of the most important commemorative periods of Australia’s history.
“We want members of our community to identify and apply for local initiatives that will provide a lasting recognition of the personal sacrifices made by men and women from our region,” she said.
“Around 330,000 Australians served overseas during the First World War including more than 50,000 at Gallipoli.”
Further information about the grants, including the program’s guidelines and grant application forms, can be obtained from Ms Chesters' electorate office by calling 5443 9055.
