Stronger Communities Grant Programme Round 4

The Stronger Communities Programme funds small capital projects which deliver social
benefits by supporting community participation and contributing to the vibrancy and viability
of communities.

Local Governments and incorporated not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply for
grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to fund capital projects. Applicants will be required to
demonstrate matched funding for the project, in cash or in-kind.

Applicants are required to submit an Expression of Interest form by Monday 27 August which will
then be reviewed by the Bendigo Electorate Consultative Committee.

No to the 2018 Budget

After five years of a Liberal Government, Australians know that we are no better off. It's harder to make ends meet, wages aren't keeping up, and services are being cut.

The Liberal's budget gives big business massive tax cuts while middle and working class people miss out on the services they rely on.

Central Victorians just can't trust the Liberal Government to deliver a fair budget.

Sign the petition and let Malcolm Turnbull know that his budget priorities mean that Central Victorians miss out.

NBN and Telecommunications

Access to reliable, affordable internet has become vital to our everyday lives.

Whether it is people trying to run a business, children trying to do their homework or even simply trying to communicate with friends and family, so much of our lives is now online.

For years Central Victoria has experienced significant problems with connectivity and unreliable internet access. Even with the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN), I know many people across the Bendigo electorate continue to have negative internet experience.

Due to the high number of complaints my office was receiving about NBN, I launched a survey to learn more about Central Victorians' internet and telecommunications experience.  Over 3000 people responded and the damning results can be found here.

Do you want to see more reliable, affordable internet access in Central Victoria?  Click here to sign my petition.

I am proud Australia has one of the best healthcare systems in the world – not only are our outcomes significantly better, but our spending as a percentage of GDP is lower than the worldwide average.

Yet the Abbott-Turnbull Government is determined to see the Americanisation of our universal health system. The US healthcare system is famously unfair, costs more and doesn’t meet the majority of the population’s health needs.

Medicare is under attack from this Liberal Government.
