Chesters Announces Recipients of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days Program

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters has announced 7 local recipients of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days (SASFD) Program.

“I would like to congratulate each of these organisations on their successful applications to the SASFD Program,” Chesters said.

“Our region has been significantly impacted by coronavirus this year and all of our agricultural shows were cancelled.

“These grants will go a long way to support agricultural show societies to continue their important work in the community.

“Agricultural shows and field days provide huge benefits and support to their local communities.

“Like many, the Kyneton Show is the main fundraising event for local community groups and showcases work of many organisations and schools.

“Every one of our local agricultural shows is different. Our local agricultural shows have modernised with the times and changed to reflect their community.

“I look forward to attending our local agricultural shows and field days in 2021,” Chesters said.

The SASFD Program provides cash flow support for agricultural show societies and organisers of agricultural field days who have cancelled their 2020 scheduled event because of COVID-19.

Funds will be reimbursed for eligible expenses, with maximum grant values based on event size.

Each successful organisation in the Bendigo electorate will receive a share of $238,419.
