Senator Bridget McKenzie’s claim in the Bendigo Advertiser that “the new needs-based funding model will increase funding to schools in the Bendigo electorate by 66.5 per cent over 10 years” is stretching the truth.

Today Federal Labor announced that a Shorten Labor Government will act to protect thousands of Central Victorian employees and small businesses from dodgy phoenix activity.

A Victorian Department of Education and Training estimator reveals just how significantly worse off Central Victorian schools will be under the Liberal Government’s new needs-based funding plan.

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters MP, said that this is a budget for millionaires and multinationals. The Liberal Government only cares about the top end of town.

Lisa Chesters MP is expecting this year’s Federal Budget to mirror previous Liberal Government budgets.
