An incoming Labor Government will roll out 21st century optic fibre to Maldon.
“This is a great announcement for Maldon families and businesses,” said Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters.
“I know from talking to people in Maldon the impact a slow and unreliable internet connection is having on their lives every day. Access to a quality, reliable broadband connection has become an essential service.
"Malcolm Turnbull said the Bendigo electorate would have the NBN by 2016 and that it would be faster and cheaper. On all three commitments he failed,” Ms Chesters said.
Under the existing roll out plan, construction on Fibre-to-the-Node NBN technology is due to start in Maldon in early 2017.
“Labor wants Australia to have a first class national broadband network and that means investing in fibre to the premises. Fibre connections provide the best speeds and this is what Central Victoria needs in the 21st century,” said Ms Chesters.
Only Labor will fix Malcolm Turnbull’s mess and deliver the vital infrastructure of the 21st century to Maldon.
