Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters is proud to announce that the Maldon RSL Sub Branch has been successful in securing a $10 504 grant from the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.
The Maldon RSL Sub Branch has recently secured a 21 year lease of the building from DELWP, giving them the opportunity to upgrade their facilities.
The kitchen replacement has been identified as a priority as the old kitchen is no longer serviceable in its current state.
“An upgraded kitchen will allow the Maldon RSL Sub branch to continue to provide a gunfire breakfast to more than 100 people who attend the ANZAC Day service.” Chesters said.
“A new kitchen will allow members to use the hall more frequently for social inclusion activities in a clean and comfortable environment”.
The Maldon RSL Sub Branch is one of 12 Central Victorian organisations who have received a share in $150,000 through the program, which funds small capital projects in local communities that deliver social benefits.
Chesters said the project was an extremely worthy recipient of a Strong Communities grant.
“I commend the hard work of the Maldon RSL Sub Branch on their application to the program.”
“There really is a shortfall in funding available in our communities for small capital works projects, so this funding announcement is particularly exciting for Central Victorians.” Chesters said.
“It's vital that our Government demonstrate strong commitment to supporting regional infrastructure, programs and events.”
