Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters is shining the spotlight on the importance and value of early education, this Early Learning Matters Week.
“Early education is vital because of the proven positive impact it has on the development of children,” Chesters said.
“We know that quality learning experiences in the first five years of a child’s life play an integral role in their development.
Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters, will join 21 local recipients of the Australian Government’s Local Sporting Champions grants at a celebration ceremony at the Bendigo Stadium today (August 20).
“Playing sport at competition level takes passion, dedication and hard work. It also involves extensive travel, training, specialist equipment and clothing, and as many parents have told me, all those costs add up.
Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters has thrown her support behind raising the Newstart allowance.
“Any one of us could find ourselves looking for work, or extra work, to make ends meet.
“Newstart is too low – it’s so low that people are being pushed into poverty and its preventing people from getting work.
Federal Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters MP has toured the completed shed upgrade at the Huntly SES, made possible through a Federal Government Grant.
“I’m proud that this upgrade was made possible through a Federal Government Stronger Communities Programme,” Chesters said.
