A big crowd is expected to join Lisa Chesters, Labor candidate for Bendigo, for her official Federal Election Campaign launch at the Bendigo Trades Hall this Saturday 27th July.
The launch commences at 2pm, and will include addresses by Lisa, Steve Gibbons MP, the retiring Federal Member, Jacinta Allan MP, Member for Bendigo East, and David Kennedy, past Federal and State Member for Bendigo.
The official proceedings will be followed by a performance by the local band the Mixed Nuts.
The launch is expected to be attended by over 200 people.
“This is a great opportunity to gather with Labor members past, present and future and to rally the troops that are so vital to this campaign,” Ms Chesters said.
“I will be working hard to ensure that Labor retains this seat because I believe it’s important that Bendigo has a strong Labor representative in Canberra to support Central Victorians.
“Steve Gibbons has followed Labor’s proud tradition of fighting for local people on local issues and I intend to continue the Labor agenda, and to build on the many achievements of this Federal Labor Government."
“With achievements like DisabilityCare Australia, our school funding reforms and our nation building infrastructure investments, Labor has a proud record to tell, but it’s about getting that message out there.”
“It is important to make sure that voters understand the choice they face at the upcoming election – whether they are comparing the NBN or education policy only Federal Labor has a plan for this nation’s future.”
