Leader of the Opposition, Bill Shorten, is coming to Bendigo and he wants to hear people’s thoughts on what direction Australia should be taking.
Mr Shorten will host “A Conversation with Bill Shorten and Labor” on Wednesday, August 20 from 5.30pm to 7pm.
He will give a short speech before opening up the forum to locals. Lisa Chesters MP said this was about listening to residents to find out how a future Labor Government can best support and serve them.
“This is a chance for people to stand up and tell Bill what is happening in their lives and in their community.
“Labor really wants to listen to the community. The forums, like the one in Bendigo, will help shape Labor’s policy in the lead up to the next election.”
Mr Shorten will also visit La Trobe University, to meet with leadership, tour the Rural School of Health and meet with student representatives.
It is expected the deregulation of universities will be a key topic of discussion.
