Buying your Christmas presents and produce from local traders, and buying locally made products, will help boost the central Victorian economy, endorsed Federal candidate Lisa Chesters said today.
“I am calling on everyone to support businesses in their communities by shopping locally at this time of the year.”
“I know how important Christmas sales are from the many summers I spent working in my parents’ furniture business – especially those deliveries that were occurring until late on Christmas Eve.”
Ms Chesters said central Victoria and the Macedon Ranges were served by some excellent retailers that deserved the support of their communities.
“You can find a terrific range of products in our local shops and the retail sector is the largest employer in our region. By spending your Christmas dollar locally, you will be supporting local small businesses and keeping people in jobs.”
“We have some great communities in our region and now is the time for us to rally round and help local traders, shops and businesses.”
“Many of our shops will be open for late night trading over the next few weeks so don’t forget to take advantage of these longer opening hours.
