Labor election pitch off to a flying start for Bendigo

There will be a Federal election in 2022.

Central Victorian’s deserve a government with ambition, vision, and a plan for economic recovery.

Whether it be vaccines, quarantine arrangements, Rapid Antigen Tests or the booster rollout. Scott Morrison and his government have proven that they are simply not up to the task.

Federal Member for Bendigo, Lisa Chesters has today kicked off Labor’s plan for Bendigo, announcing that a Labor government will provide $4.5 million to fund the Bendigo Airport terminal upgrade.

“This project will deliver more secure local jobs and more opportunities to the Bendigo community,” Ms Chesters said.

This upgrade will deliver immediate benefits for Bendigo, with modelling commissioned by the City of Greater Bendigo finding the new service would inject $3.9 million into the regional economy during its first year alone.

“While Scott Morrison has continually ignored the Airport upgrade, Labor will fund this important project.”

The Liberals have had five years to fund this project and they have failed to get it done. That is despite it consistently being a top priority for the City of Greater Bendigo.

“This Bendigo Airport Terminal upgrade will create jobs, bring more people to Bendigo and drive economic growth,” Ms Chesters said.

Only a vote for Labor will ensure this project actually gets done.
